Thekua for Chhath Puja
Thekua is widely prepared as Maha Prasad during Chhath Puja, a festival observed mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh and the diaspora. Recipes and rituals vary by family and region. ANORAA offers small-batch Thekua suitable for festival and prasad orders, made with pure desi ghee and no palm oil.
What Is Chhath Puja
Chhath Puja is a multi-day Hindu festival dedicated to the Sun God, observed with fasting, river/water-body rituals and offerings of prasad. Practices differ by family, community and region, and this page does not attempt to describe every tradition - it focuses on Thekua, the snack most closely associated with the festival's prasad offerings.
Thekua as Prasad
Thekua prepared for prasad is traditionally made with care around cleanliness and ritual purity. For festival and bulk Chhath Puja orders, ANORAA uses dedicated, small-batch protocols in separate, sanctified zones, made with pure desi ghee and no palm oil or preservatives.
